Yamaha’s two-stroke range is as popular as ever and continues to be the top choice for discerning racers keen to extract maximum fun for their dollar.

Now Yamaha’s YZ125 and YZ250 are available with new plastics and graphics to go with the current model bodywork. YMA is offering this benefit to highlight Yamaha’s continued commitment to the YZ two-stroke range.

One of the hottest topics in MX paddocks is the resurgence of the two-stroke and there are many examples of racers, riders and media getting excited about Yamaha’s YZ
two-strokes.

Race promoters have started to wake up to the increasing numbers of riders turning toward two-strokes by catering for them with specific race classes – for example there was a two stroke only race class at the Coolum MX Nationals on 25/26 Aug.

With 47bhp on tap and tipping the scales at just 98kg, the YZ250 has a power to weight ratio that four stroke 250Fs can only dream about.

Add in a state-of-the-art aluminium chassis and Kayaba speed sensitive forks for close to telepathic handling it’s no wonder the two-strokes retain a strong fan base.

A fan base attracted by the low maintenance costs and easy service requirements -a home mechanic can tune and fix a two-stroke with basic knowledge and minimal outlay.

Or perhaps it’s the versatility that draws owners to the YZ125 and YZ250. From back flipping freestyle riding, right through MX racing and fun to simple conversion for enduro use – the Yamaha two-strokes are a great choice for a wide range of uses across an equally broad spectrum of riders.

YZ250 has been the choice of the world’s greatest MX and SX riders with Chad Reed and Jeremy McGrath winning AMA titles on this model. And now that the YZ250 is cleared to compete with 250Fs, it has become a great option for riders with two-stroke oil in their blood.

The free plastics kit offer consists of shrouds, side plates, front and rear fenders and a number plate, plus unique Yamaha tank graphics. Customers also receive the standard plastics/graphics kit.

The YZ125 retails for $8699 and the YZ250 for $9999 inc GST.
