09-07-2012 at 01:00: Captiva’s Features Grow

Holden’s Captiva SUV range has been given some new features and added fuel efficiency. E85 capability is now included across all petrol engines in the Captiva range with no change to the buy price.

Fuel economy improvements of up to 10 per cent have been achieved with powertrain calibration refinements and all petrol models now have flex-fuel capability, giving the choice to refuel with bio-ethanol, E10, unleaded, premium or any combination in between.

Bio-ethanol, also known as E85, is a fuel consisting of up to 85 per cent ethanol and 15 per cent petrol.  It is a cleaner-burning fuel that can enhance vehicle performance and reduce CO₂ emissions by up to 40 per cent, compared to petrol.

The 2012 updates also include the addition of new safety and luxury features with rear park assist now standard on the Captiva 7 SX, and heated front seats and front park assist now standard on the top of the range Captiva 7 LX.

Holden Executive Director of Sales, Marketing and Aftersales John Elsworth said the new updates would make Captiva even more appealing.

“We’re constantly looking to improve our products whenever possible, responding to customer feedback and market changes to ensure our vehicles remain highly competitive and relevant to modern Australian families,” Mr Elsworth said.

Despite the updates of safety features and fuel economy, the prices has remained the same with drive away prices of $27,990 Captiva 5 2.4 litre petrol (manual transmission) and $33,990 for Captiva 7 SX 2.4 litre petrol (automatic transmission).

These drive away prices also include a special offers for each model. The Captiva 5 will include a sunroof and 18 inch alloy wheels while the 7 includes a sunroof and sidesteps.
