The new S16 FLX offers a wide array of enhancements and injects more dynamic styling and design into the introductory family sedan. Befitting its popularity especially amongst the younger generation of car buyers, the S16 FLX has undergone exterior restyling to take on a more spirited, young, sporty and trendy appearance. The new S16 FLX is offered in two variants; the 1.6L GX and the 1.6L GXR, both available in manual and CVT transmissions, and priced from $13,990 for the GX manual and from $14,990 for the GXR manual. Standard safety features across the range include Electronic Stability Control, Anti-lock Brakes, Dual front airbags, Drive and Passenger Pre-tensioner seat belts and Reverse sensors. Improving the overall exterior styling to reflect a more dynamic personality, the S16 FLX features an all-new fender design, hood, headlamps, front grille, as well as front and rear bumpers. Also new is the introduction of side mirrors incorporating LED turn signals and rear combination lamps with LED. Inside, the S16 FLX features an all-new seat and door trim fabric, a radio CD/ MP3 player with AUX & USB ports, and steering wheel with audio controls. Outside, the S16 FLX features front fog lights, newly-designed alloy wheels, while the GXR adds features like a rear spoiler and leather interior for an even more sporty appearance. “The S16 FLX represents the new way of doing things at Proton”, said Proton Cars Australia General Manager Sales & Marketing Billy Falconer. “Instead of resting on the popularity and success of the existing S16, the overwhelming public acceptance motivated us even more to improve the S16 and make sure the S16 FLX was better looking and even safer,”. Billy Falconer added that the S16 has quickly risen to be the brands top selling model in Australia since its introduction in November 2009 and with the S16 FLX now available in all Proton dealers. “The S16 FLX is again a manifestation of Proton’s commitment to provide Australians with exceptional value for money in terms of affordability in ownership, practicality, style, level of features, and safety.” Available in six colours including Solid White, Solid Red, Tranquility Black, Genetic Silver, Blue Rock and Latte Gold there is something for all tastes. Proton’s S16 FLX comes standard with a three-year, unlimited km factory backed warranty and includes 24 hours roadside assistance for the duration of the 3 years warranty.
