24-06-2012 at 23:00: BT-50 Adds New Models and Equipment

Mazda Australia has strengthened its award-winning BT-50 line-up with two new models and the addition of new equipment to its range-topping BT-50 4×4 Dual Cab GT.

Reflecting strong demand for dual cab variants of the BT-50, Mazda has introduced a 4×2 Dual Cab Chassis model for the first time. The BT-50 4×2 Dual Cab Chassis comes in XT grade featuring air-conditioning, Bluetooth, cruise control and power windows and mirrors.

Power comes courtesy of Mazda’s 3.2 litre MZ-CD common-rail diesel engine which delivers 470Nm of torque and a braked towing capacity of 3,350kg.

The new BT-50 4×2 Dual Cab Chassis is available now with a Manufacturer’s List Price (MLP) of $34,590.

Also joining the BT-50 range is an automatic variant of the 4×2 Single Cab Chassis XT. Available with Mazda’s MZ-CD 2.2 litre common-rail diesel engine, six-speed automatic transmission and Hi-Rider suspension, this new model is expected to hit Mazda showrooms in the coming weeks.

Both new models have been introduced in direct response to customer demand and Mazda hopes that the new additions will broaden the BT-50′s appeal and ultimately deliver incremental volume.

An 8-way power adjustable driver’s seat has also been added to Mazda’s range-topping BT-50 4×4 Dual Cab Utility GT.

“Offering exceptional vehicles that meet customer demand is at the very core of what we do at Mazda and the addition of these two new BT-50 models is an example of this,” said Mazda Australia national marketing manager Alastair Doak.

“We’ve been delighted with the response to the All-New BT-50 and with buyers now making the dual cab the most popular body style and showing increased demand for automatic transmissions, we thought it was important to listen to that and broaden our line-up accordingly.”
