The Citroen C5 Attraction Turbo is fitted with a six speed automatic gearbox, 17 inch alloy wheels, Auto dimming rear view mirror, Automatic headlights, Automatic wipers, Cruise control, Speed Limiter, audio system with Bluetooth, climate control air conditioning amongst its comprehensive equipment package. The new 1.6 litre 115 kW Turbo petrol engine is one of a family of engines co-developed with BMW and provides the C5 sedan with an excellent blend of performance, with the 100 kmh dash dispatched in 9.5 seconds and a 210 kmh top speed matched by a combined fuel figure of 7.7 l/100 km. This is made possible by a combination of advanced technology and a light, compact design that also benefits the vehicle’s overall weight as well as further enhancing the handling and roadholding of the C5 thanks the small engine placing less weight over the front wheels. Lead by the new value for money Citroen C5 Attraction Turbo, the revamped Citroen C5 range now has a choice of three trim levels, Attraction, Seduction and Exclusive offered in two body styles, the C5 saloon and C5 Tourer. Joining the two diesel engines, the 120 kW 2.0 litre Turbo Diesel and the 177 kW 3.0 V6 Turbo Diesel is a new 1.6 litre Turbo Petrol engine offering 115 kW. All versions are fitted as standard with a six speed automatic gearbox. The combination of the new Attraction trim level and the new Turbo Petrol engine as enabled Citroen to offer the 2012 C5 with an opening price of $32,990 driveaway for a limited time, while the new trim level combined with the 2.0 litre Turbo Diesel engine enables Citroen to open the C5 HDi Turbo Diesel range at a recommended retail price of $37,990 excluding statutory charges, delivery and dealer costs as a sedan and a recommended retail price of $39,990 excluding statutory charges, delivery and dealer costs as the load swallowing C5 Tourer. The performance and economy of the new Turbo Petrol engine makes it much more than a power unit just for the entry level variant and it is therefore available with all three trim and equipment levels right across the Citroen C5 range. “The new Turbo Petrol engine maintains the C5’s reputation for advanced technology and the new driveaway price builds on its value for money reputation,” says Miles Williams, General Manager of Citroen Australia. “The Citroen C5 almost seems to have been designed for Australia’s long distances and demanding roads with the economical engines, spacious interior and comfortable, luxurious ride quality, and now the new driveaway price means that the C5 is also designed for Australian motorists looking for the best deal.”
