The RSPCA does a wonderful job in saving animals and finding them new homes where they will be loved. In an effort to help RSPCA NSW, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles will loan a Crafter van to the Sydney shelter. Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, which moved in next door to the RSPCA’s Sydney Shelter and Head office at Chullora in January this year, handed over the Crafter van’s keys to RSPCA NSW CEO, Steve Coleman, in support of an innovative new program which allows the charity to connect shelter animals with potential owners sooner. RSPCA NSW will use the van to transport animals around the state via a network of Petbarn stores who have agreed to work together as part of the new project. By offering RSPCA animals for adoption at each store, RSPCA hopes to rehome more animals by taking them to places where potential pet owners frequent rather than waiting for people to come the shelter. Phil Clark, Director of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, commented: “We’re proud to support the work of our neighbours, the RSPCA, and hope our new Crafter will provide enough space to chauffeur around all creatures, great and small.” Along with the Crafter, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles also presented the RSPCA with a cheque for $5,400 to assist in their continued efforts to promote and enhance animal welfare, and rehome unwanted or neglected pets.
