Honda Australia will this week launch an innovative campaign to introduce the all-new Civic.

Reflecting the harmonious nature of the ninth-generation Honda Civic, the music track uses over sixty-five recorded sounds made by the Civic. Seven different microphones were used to capture the sounds, from a car boot thud to the electronics of the power door mirrors. The ad will be aired nationally from March 11.

Honda Australia’s Marketing Manager Mr. Kevin Lillie said “I loved the idea from the minute it was presented. This communication matches Honda’s engineering – delivering precision whilst looking and sounding great. Everything in it works beautifully.”

Honda Australia Director, Stephen Collins said “The iconic Civic nameplate is an Australian favourite. This ninth-generation Civic has undergone significant engineering development, with increased fuel efficiency, smoother handling, improved driving dynamics, a smarter cockpit and Honda’s ECO assist system. The new Civic embodies engineering excellence and has scored the highest safety rating from ANCAP.”

The campaign was created by Draftfcb. Creative Director Mat Garbutt says “The Symphony in Motion campaign captures what it feels like to own and drive a Honda Civic – an utterly reliable car that runs like clockwork. To take something that is exceptional to drive, and morph into something that is also exceptional to hear has been hugely satisfying for us and Honda.”

The original concept for the campaign was created collaboratively with DTDigital, Honda’s digital agency. An interactive “Civic Sounds Experience”, which will build on the campaign’s momentum, will launch on April 9.

The Honda Civic is a globally recognised car, with over twenty million sold around the world. The latest generation Civic offers customers excellent value for money, and reliability that is synonymous with the brand.

There are more than 400,000 Hondas on the road in Australia and millions of happy customers worldwide.
