The all-new 2012 Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade local dealer launch took place at Pro Honda Rocklea last weekend. The first look at the new bike gives good impressions as the new 1000 has new styling and new colour schemes that make it look great. The all-new CBR is offered in three brilliant colours including a 20th edition scheme which is a white pearl with a metal flake with some subtle red and blue lines which set the bike off very nice. There is also a red and black and a plain black style. The launch at Pro Honda was a well set up launch. There was a continuous video playing throughout the morning featuring information on the all-new CBR1000RR and also offered a history lesson on the original CBR. To top off the launch there was a free BBQ and 20 lucky riders had a quick spin around Rocklea. First impression of the all-new CBR1000RR was a wow factor. Sitting on the bike, the rider’s position was set in a rather comfortable position. One off putting thing about the position was the peg position. They sat a tad too high and the muffler was set right behind right peg. When at a set of lights my right calf got very hot. Besides those two things which can be sorted with an aftermarket pipe to get it away from the peg the bike was great. I’d like to give a big thanks to John and Jeff at Pro Honda for the chance to see this great new bike, and look forward to riding this bike more and offering an in-depth test and review.
