08-02-2012 at 09:01: Ladies Day

As everyone is aware motor sport is defiantly a male dominated sport and most track days find men behind the wheel while their ladies support them from the sidelines or even the shops.

But there are many women who want to get behind the wheel of their pride and joy, and on Saturday the 18th of February they will get their chance at Queensland Raceway.

The Ladies Day was initiated by the Historic Racing Car Club of Queensland (HRCCQ), when a number of ladies were interested in spending time on the track without their husbands.

Tony Hastings of the HRCCQ brought the idea to Queensland Raceways and a day was developed for ladies to have time on the track in their car, at their speed regardless of whether it was a purpose specific race car or their much loved daily driver.

The Ladies Day is designed for women of all ages and backgrounds to have time on the track without men so they can gain confidence and hone their race craft with experienced instructors on hand.

If you’re a lady and interested in attending this event then contact QR for all the details.
