Honda Australia will be entering a two car team in the 2012 Australian Rally Championship (ARC) with Eli Evans holding his drive in the new Jazz G2 rally car. Honda Australia’s two new Jazz rally cars have been designed to meet the new G2 specifications and will combine the very best in Australian and European engineering using specifications found in many World Rally Championship cars. Both cars will be powered by a Mugen-tuned two-litre engine delivering 183kW of power at 9000RPM with 193Nm of torque. Evans has been powering the Honda Civic Type R for the past two years and the sound and style has become a crowd favorite with Eli working hard on strong finishing positions. But with the announcement of a two car team and the introduction of the new Jazz rally car, the second driver was a mystery. With much talent in the ARC any number of drivers could have been selected for the first factory driver opening for 2012. Working hard all year and having many ups and downs, Mark Pedder will be changing from his Pedders sponsored Mitsubishi Evo to the red and white colours of the Honda Rally team for 2012 and joining the two wheel drive championship. Honda is confident with their lineup in 2012 and is hoping for an even better result than this year’s ARC. See the original post... |
