The 2011 Alpha Industries South Australian Sprint Kart Championships are taking place from the 25th of November and finishing up on Sunday 27th at the Monarto Go Kart Complex. The field will be packed with karting talent from all over Australia including 19 year old Sam Kelly. Kelly will make his debut in the open championship event and will be racing 19 other young guns for the number one position. With practice starting on Wednesday, Kelly will be aiming to get as much track time as he can before the qualifying sessions on Friday. Then the anguishing wait overnight will see final preparations to the kart with high hopes for a strong race in the two heats on Saturday. Aiming for a top 15 spot, Kelly knows how tough the competition will be. Finally on Sunday the pre final and the final will take shape with Kelly aiming for a top 10 finish. |
With the year coming to an end there are only a few events left for drivers to show their stuff before the traditional silly season begins. As most racers know, go-karts are the starting ground for many young drivers and the place to find new talent.^ Back to top ^
