Debuting in the Mégane hatch diesel will be Renault’s new six-speed EDC (Efficient Dual Clutch) automatic transmission. This new gearbox, available exclusively with the 1.5 dCi 110 diesel engine, is a landmark addition to the range and will enable new Mégane customers to benefit from a transmission that combines the comfort of an automatic with the response and fuel efficiency of a manual gearbox. The new Mégane hatch diesel is powered by the Euro 5 compliant 1.5 dCi 110 engine. Producing peak torque of 240 Nm at just 1,750 rpm the engine is nimble and responsive – perfectly suited for a fuel-efficient daily commute or a sprightly country drive. Both the frugal diesel engine and Efficient Dual Clutch contribute to the new Mégane hatch diesel’s incredibly low fuel-consumption figure of just 4.5-litres/100 km on the combined cycle. In addition, just 117 g of CO2 are emitted per km. As with its petrol-powered sibling, the new Mégane hatch diesel will be available in two generous specification levels – Dynamique, and the range topping Privilege.
