27-10-2011 at 08:00: CDR Rockstar Yamaha Goes Pink

Round two of the 2011 Super X Championship at Wollongong this weekend will see the CDR Rockstar Yamaha duo of Jay Marmont and Jake Moss swap their regular racing gear for special set of Pink Fox gear to promote breast cancer awareness.

The pair, both from the South Coast region and competing in front of their home town crowd, will stand out more than usual with the ultra bright pink gear and also run pink bike livery for the occasion. In a combined CDR Yamaha, Rockstar and Fox arrangement, each company are only too happy to get behind and promote breast cancer awareness in the community and the pink theme is their way of shining some light on the topic.

“Running pink Fox gear and changing the colour of our race bikes is our way of assisting and raising the profile of breast cancer,” states team owner Craig Dack. “Breast cancer is a serious issue in the community and effects thousands of people so if we can raise a few dollars and make people think a little more about its effect on families and the community then we will be happy.”

Monza Imports, the company that brings Fox Racing apparel into Australia have been a supporter of the Pink Breast Cancer awareness campaign for some time now and always look for ways to give back to the community.

“Fox are always happy to be involved in this program,” said athlete rep, Mick Sinclair. “Each year we have offered our support to the program via racing and this year we are combining the PINK gear with a donation to the cancer appeal. We urge others to do the same as every little bit helps for an illness like this.”

Lead CDR Rockstar Yamaha rider, Jay Marmont has always been quick to throw his weight behind a good cause and in the past he done several things to assist or aide people in need. Breast cancer awareness is something Jay feels passionately about and can’t wait to try on the pink threads.

“I might cop a bout of flak from the boys about it, but that’s a small price to pay in trying to raise the level of attention for breast cancer. I think it’s a great initiative by CDR Rockstar Yamaha and Fox and I’m proud to be a part of it,” he finishes.

The all pink theme runs through to Rockstar Energy Drink as they have just launched their new Perfectberry flavor onto the Australian market. The slim-line pink can contains the perfect blend of raspberry, strawberry and blueberry with no sugar added. The combined CDR Yamaha, Rockstar and Fox all pink weekend should make for quite a spectacle in the pit paddock this weekend.

“With its great flavour, zero added sugar and a convenient straw on the side, Perfectberry is set to wow the active, modern woman, the bright pink can has great shelf presence, you can’t miss it!” says Chris Burgon, National Sales & Marketing Manager, Rockstar.

The boys will have the Pink gear on as they tackle round two of the Super X Championship at Wollongong’s WIN Stadium. Action gets under way at 3.00pm with heats and qualifying while the full night program kicks off at 5.30pm.
