Unlike 2010 the 9th Annual event, sponsored by Albion Chrysler Jeep Dodge and Leo Muller, was run under clear winter skies with many a fan in toe to see the hot racing action, show and shine and all the display cars scattered around the drag complex. Many cars took to the sticky tar to show what they had lurking under the bonnet in the quarter mile sprint to the line. The fastest run of the day came from Steve Read with a blistering 5.52 second pass. Others tried to beat this time with a number coming unstuck in the process. Along with the drags to keep the crowds entertained was the dyno competition where Gregory Behrendorff in his 303.1 hp VJ ute took both the eight cylinder unassisted and the Horsepower Hero class victories. The event also hosted trade displays and many other Mopar mad stalls where the once a year show goer could grab a deal and take a piece of the event home with them. Sunday is a day of rest and relaxation unless you own or show an interest in Mopar’s modern or early. Mopar Sunday was held on, believe it or not, Sunday July 31 at Willowbank Raceway.
